Bridges

Modern Architecture is limited in funds. Unlike the royal days when a king would build a Taj Mahal with public funds, rich men will not spend so much of their personal money on making fantastic public structures. So architecture is limited to being utilitarian optimizing on spending. And the only hope for fantastic public structures are bridges. Not surprisingly in many countries bridges serve as public attractions.
